R\u00e9cemment, des scientifiques australiens ont men\u00e9 une \u00e9tude publi\u00e9e dans la revue PNAS montrant que certains antid\u00e9presseurs, tels que la sertraline et la dulox\u00e9tine, peuvent induire chez E. coli une r\u00e9sistance \u00e0 divers antibiotiques. L&#8217;intestin contient la plus grande concentration de bact\u00e9ries de l&#8217;organisme et constitue une cible commune pour les antimicrobiens. Par exemple, les antibiotiques \u00e0 large spectre peuvent modifier le microbiome intestinal pendant des semaines, voire des mois. Le corps humain contient environ 1 kg de bact\u00e9ries, connues sous le nom de microbiote intestinal. Ces bact\u00e9ries produisent tous les neurotransmetteurs centraux cl\u00e9s, tels que la s\u00e9rotonine et le GABA, qui peuvent transmettre des signaux au cerveau par l&#8217;interm\u00e9diaire du syst\u00e8me nerveux ent\u00e9rique et du nerf vague.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">La connexion intestin-cerveau et le r\u00f4le antibiotique des antid\u00e9presseurs<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>La d\u00e9couverte de l&#8217;isoniazide, le premier antid\u00e9presseur, d\u00e9velopp\u00e9 \u00e0 l&#8217;origine comme m\u00e9dicament antibact\u00e9rien pour traiter la tuberculose, a eu des effets secondaires inattendus sous la forme d&#8217;une am\u00e9lioration de l&#8217;humeur et du sommeil. C&#8217;est ainsi qu&#8217;est n\u00e9e &#8220;l&#8217;hypoth\u00e8se monoaminergique de la d\u00e9pression&#8221; et qu&#8217;ont \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9velopp\u00e9es plusieurs classes d&#8217;antid\u00e9presseurs. Des \u00e9tudes r\u00e9centes ont montr\u00e9 que certains antid\u00e9presseurs, comme la fluox\u00e9tine, ont des effets antibact\u00e9riens dans certaines circonstances.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cependant, les antid\u00e9presseurs peuvent \u00e9galement modifier la sensibilit\u00e9 des micro-organismes aux antimicrobiens et faciliter la propagation des g\u00e8nes de r\u00e9sistance aux m\u00e9dicaments multiples. La prescription et l&#8217;utilisation d&#8217;antid\u00e9presseurs doivent tenir compte de leur impact sur la propagation de la r\u00e9sistance aux antibiotiques et des cons\u00e9quences de l&#8217;\u00e9puisement de l&#8217;arsenal antibiotique actuel. Alors que la consommation d&#8217;antid\u00e9presseurs augmente, en particulier dans les pays occidentaux, o\u00f9 ils repr\u00e9sentent une part importante du march\u00e9 pharmaceutique, il est important de prendre en compte l&#8217;impact potentiel sur la r\u00e9sistance aux antimicrobiens.
